Opto-mechanical components are used to provide a variety of mounting or positioning options for a wide range of optical applications. Many of these components are coated Black to reduce noise and unwanted reflections to increase the efficiency of the optical system.
Acktar black coating process and equipment fit large-scale production of coated components such as baffles, apertures, blackened lenses, DMD projector parts, remote sensing targets, optical choppers, edge blackened optics etc. To coat your parts please contact us.
Standard components such as apertures, pinholes, chopper blades, beam dumps, extension tubes are also available as shelf products, and can be purchased on line.
Acktar is constantly adding new products to serve you better.
Acktar Light Absorbing Coatings for Energetic Laser Applications
Acktar Black coatings are excellent performers where a combination of high absorptance and high tolerance of laser energy is required.
The Laser Induced Damage Threshold (LIDT) of a coating cannot be stated in general but depends upon a number of factors – wave length, pulse width, pulse rate, laser waveform, etc.
In the case of Acktar coatings – which absorb light – the LIDT depends also upon the ability of the substrate to quickly disperse the absorbed thermal energy.
Acktar coatings have been tested under a variety of test conditions and the results presented show that Acktar Black Coatings exhibit very impressive LIDT values under a broad variety of conditions and constitute an excellent choice where a combination of high absorptance and high tolerance of laser energy is required.
