Safety Scanner calibration – with SAFEtect TM

Test specimens and measurement targets for active optoelectronic protective devices in human-robot collaboration (based on DIN CLC/TS 61496-3 (VDE V 0113-203) and ISO 3691-4)

The very high safety requirements in human-machine interaction require reliable detection of human “obstacles” or other machines and equipment. The proper functioning of safety scanners is essential to avert the risk of a collision. During the scan, both the nature of the obstacles (especially clothing) and the reflection of ambient light hold considerable interference potential for optoelectronic signal detection by the safety sensor system.

SAFEtectTM offers test specimens and measuring targets for the simulation of the optical limit cases black, white and retro-reflective. They were developed in accordance with the requirements of DIN CLC/TS 61496-3 and ISO 3691-4. The obstacle simulation by means of test specimens with special reflective properties enables the optical function test of the electro-sensitive protective equipment under the test conditions required by the DIN standard.

With the product inspection test of the safety scanners, their detection capability can be precisely proven and calibration can be performed or optimized accordingly. An exact calibration increases the quality, the reliability and thus also the detection probability of your safety scanners.

SAFEtectTM helps you to make your detection systems safer.
